Wish List - Studio and Color

I'm always thinking about color, especially in gemstones, but the announcement of Pantone's 2011 Color of the Year triggered something that I rarely share:  my wish list.

My wish list is mostly loaded down with beads, tools and books, but I have a sub-list devoted to my dream studio.  In this place of mine, I  want a lot of color, but the practical me resigns the walls to either white or black so I don't get distracted from my beads.  And I've always envisioned a space for a huge chalk board.  When I was a kid, my mom had one in her office, and my younger brother and I made the most of it while we waited for her to finish one of her meetings.

Anyway, today's post from design*sponge brings me a bit closer to checking two items off my wish list - color and a chalkboard

Hudson Paint as a line of chalkboard paint !

Pantone announces 2011 Color of the Year

The Pantone 2011 Color of the Year is Honeysuckle.
What do you think or feel about this choice?

Pantone Color of the Year 2011: Honeysuckle

My initial reaction wasn't super wow, but I do like it.

Camera Rolling

Alison Rauch from CN2 News came to Sirius today to interview moi about being a StartupNation Leading Moms in Business winner.  She was really nice, and gave the kids a mini reporter / camera operator / producer lesson.  Something to be learned everyday.
I think I got a bit animated (I was talking about gemstones and jewelry making after all), so I forced my hands into my lap - I think - and she kept rolling.  We'll see the results when Alison finishes editing.

Amy & Sirius7 Jewelry are Winners

StartupNation announced the winners of the 2010 Leading Moms in Business competition, and I ranked 45th!
I am also the highest ranked jewelry artist, and the highest ranked mom in business for South Carolina.

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much for your support and votes!
You helped to make a tremendous difference:  in 2009, I ranked number 193, so this is quite a leap.

What's Next...

StartupNation has begun a publicity campaign for the winning moms and businesses: generating media heat is the main reward for placing in this competition.

As always, I'll keep you posted on our Facebook pages, Sirius7 Jewelry and Sirius Mind and Body, as S7J progresses.

Cheers!
Amy

Waiting for the winners to be announced

StartupNation has moved the announcement of the winners of the 2010 Leading Moms in Business competition to October 11th.
Last year, there were over 620,000 votes to count, so I can only imagine the count task for this year!
I'll keep you posted, and my fingers crossed.
